Leading Cybersecurity Firm Sees Increased Demand from Country’s Top AMCs for Range of Services Including Risk Analysis, Incident Response, Compliance Offerings, and Information Security

Austin, TX, September 24, 2018 — CynergisTek, (NYSE AMERICAN: CTEK), a leader in healthcare cybersecurity and information assurance, today announced that over the past month, five large Academic Medical Center (AMC) clients have selected the company to help develop and implement programs to ensure security, privacy, and compliance alignment. CynergisTek also announced that several of its existing AMC clients have recently expanded their contracts to incorporate additional CynergisTek services to maintain and enhance security, privacy, and compliance programs.

This news highlights the unprecedented demand CynergisTek is seeing from AMCs across the country, specifically for its Professional Services and Compliance Assist Partner Program (CAPP). CynergisTek has also seen increased interest from AMCs for additional services that address security and privacy, including:

  • Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO): This service provides organizations with an information security resource that is integrated into the existing security program without the added expense and administrative overhead of hiring and training new staff members.
  • Incident Response (IR): This service improves an organization’s ability to respond to a security incident and ensures organizations have the right technologies, people and processes in place to respond in an efficient and effective manner.
  • HIPAA Risk Assessment: Using a NIST-based methodology, this service addresses regulatory requirements and supports awareness and development of data security programs, allowing organizations to properly achieve business goals and implement ongoing risk management programs.

These service offerings supply AMCs with the resources and guidance they need to effectively maintain and manage security and privacy programs across the entire enterprise while helping them meet compliance goals and ensure maximum readiness for potential threats.

“Given academic medical centers’ mission of not only providing quality medical care but also providing medical education and conducting ongoing research, they face unique data and privacy challenges and the added difficulty of hiring cybersecurity professionals that truly understand the nuances of the AMC environment,” says Mac McMillan, CEO and President, CynergisTek. “The demand we are seeing from AMCs across the country is a testament to CynergisTek’s proven expertise in understanding and tackling the specific privacy and security challenges brought forth in this dynamic healthcare landscape.”
