J.D. Abouchar

Director, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Abouchar is the active Chairman of CynergisTek who brings to the Company a broad range of Institutional and Advocacy Investing, Capital Markets and Financial Analysis experience. From 2006 to 2014, he was an independent consultant to GRT Capital Partners, LLC, and the portfolio manager of the GRT Technology L.P. hedge fund and the GRT Tech Market Neutral fund. Previously, he was a Senior Analyst at Pacific Edge Investment Management, a hedge fund specializing in various electronics and technology industries based in Palo Alto, California.  From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Abouchar was an independent director and chairman of the audit committee of InFocus Corporation, (INFS) formerly a NASDAQ listed company. J.D. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Drex DeFord

Director

Mr. DeFord is an independent consultant with a long career as a healthcare executive, including his experience as Co-Founder and CEO of Next Wave Connect; EVP and CIO at Steward Healthcare in Boston; SVP and CIO at Seattle Children’s Health System and Research Institute; and Corporate VP and CIO at Scripps Health in San Diego. Prior to that, he spent 20 years in the US Air Force, where he served as regional CIO, a medical center CIO, and Chief Technology Officer for the USAF Health System’s World-Wide Operations. Drex has earned a Master of Science, Health Informatics from University of Alabama-Birmingham and a Master of Public Administration from University of Oklahoma. In addition, he is a Fellow in HIMSS, CHIME and ACHE.

Judy Krandel

Director

Ms. Krandel is a finance and public equity research and investing professional who brings extensive capital markets experience. Judy is the Chief Financial Officer for Snap Interactive, a leading provider of real-time, rich media, interactive social networking and dating applications. Prior to joining SNAP, Ms. Krandel served as Portfolio Manager for First New York Securities, LLC, Alpine Woods and Juniper Investment Co. In these roles, she focused on small-cap equities. In addition, Judy has served as a trusted advisor to many corporate management teams, helping them unlock shareholder value through the strategic development of business plans, exploring M&A and joint venture opportunities, raising capital and enhancing investor relations efforts. She earned her B.S. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Dr. Michael Mathews

Director

Dr. Mathews, Chief Operating Officer for CynergisTek directing all facets of service delivery and the day-to-day operations of the companies. He is also the Chief Technologist and a subject matter expert in information security architecture and assessments, risk analysis, policy development, network security, and host-based security across the financial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, Internet, telecommunication, and defense industries. He is the former Chief Security Officer at Parkland Health and Hospital System.

Prior to Parkland, Dr. Mathews served as Master Security Architect for Exodus Communications where, among other customers, he worked with Visa USA to write the original Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) audit standard for third parties (which has subsequently evolved into the current Payment Card Industries – Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Before joining Exodus, Dr. Mathews was Senior Network Engineer for TRW Space & Defense, where he provided services to the United States Air Force and National Security Agency.

Dr. Mathews holds a Ph.D. in chemical physics from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and philosophy from Spring Hill College.

Theresa Meadows

Director

Ms. Meadows is SVP and CIO of Texas-based Cook Children’s Health Care System and has been selected by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security and the National Institute of Standards and Technology serves as the Co-Chair for HHS’ Healthcare Cybersecurity Task Force. She is also an active member of the Children’s Hospital Association CIO Council, a Fellow in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and is an active member of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME).  Meadows is a graduate of CIO Bootcamp and is a credentialed by CHIME as a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO). She has a master’s degree in healthcare informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Mac McMillan

Director

Mr. McMillan is CEO and President of CynergisTek, Inc. McMillan is recognized as a HIMSS Fellow and former Chair of the HIMSS Privacy & Security Policy Task Force. McMillan brings nearly 40 years of combined intelligence, information security and consulting experience and has worked in the healthcare industry since his retirement from the federal government in 2000. McMillan is considered a thought leader in compliance, security and privacy issues in healthcare, and has been recognized as a top health information security influencer.

Mark Roberson

Director

Mr. Roberson is a finance and operations leader who brings deep experience with microcap and public company finance and governance. Mark currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Chanticleer Holdings, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed restaurant operating company. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of PokerTek, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed gaming technology company. He has over 20 years of  financial and operational management experience, including Curtiss-Wright, Inc. a NYSE-listed aerospace and defense contractor, Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation, a NYSE-listed fast-casual restaurant franchisor and operator, and LifeStyle Furnishings International, a $2 billion private equity backed furniture manufacturer. Mark is a CPA who started his career with Ernst & Young and  PricewaterhouseCoopers where he managed the firm’s regional health care practice. He earned an MBA from Wake Forest University, a BS in Accounting from UNC-Greensboro and a BS in Economics from Southern Methodist University.

Paul Anthony

Corporate Secretary

Mr. Anthony is a Certified Public Accountant and an expert in financial management, investor relations, tax, treasury and risk management with nearly 15 years of professional services experience with worldwide enterprises, publicly traded companies and start-ups. He has worked for a number of the largest companies in he world including KPMG Peat Marwick LLP and IBM-Access360. Since 2005, Anthony has worked as the lead financial management advisor and analyst for CynergisTek, formerly Auxilio, the pioneer of managed document services for the health care industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Northern Illinois University.
