Premier Cybersecurity Consulting Firm to Lead Two Sessions with Health System and Academia Leaders

HIMSS brings together 45,000+ health information and technology professionals, clinicians, executives, and vendors from around the world.

In the session titled, “Leveraging Metrics to Tell Your Security Risk Story,” Bailey and Randall Frietzsche, enterprise chief information security officer for Denver Health, will explain how security professionals at health systems can leverage data to effectively communicate an organization’s security risk to leadership and non-technical teams. Attendees will learn best practices for educating the C-suite on setting organizational risk tolerance, which metrics resonate most with different audiences within a health system, and how to build a customized dashboard to tell the risk story of an organization. This session will take place on Tuesday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. ET in Orlando – Orange County Convention Center, W308A.

During the presentation, “Security Workforce Challenges and Strategies,” Hewitt and William Miaoulis, chief information security officer at Auburn University, will discuss the cybersecurity workforce shortage in healthcare and what provider organizations must do to recruit and retain the professionals needed to implement holistic security management programs. More specifically, this session will cover strategies that address workforce issues, such as writing specialized security and compliance job descriptions, building actionable career ladders that address employee retention concerns, and identifying staffing alternatives for scarce skills to supplement the workforce when needed. This session will take place on Thursday, March 12 at 4:00 p.m. ET in the Orlando – Orange County Convention Center, W311A.
