CynergisTek’s David Holtzman to Speak at AMC Security & Privacy Conference Hosted by NCHICA
June 22-24 | Chapel Hill, NC
CynergisTek continues to live up to our commitment of educating and creating awareness on some of the most relevant topics for the healthcare industry. VP of Compliance, David Holtzman will lead a panel discussion, “Meaningful Use Security & Privacy Measures: Audit Awareness” at the 11th AMC conference on Securely Connecting Communities for Improved Health. Meaningful Use Stage 2 raised the bar for health information privacy and security, and auditors are validating that covered entities are achieving expectations. David will be joined by Dori Ledford of Vidant Health to discuss how organizations should be scoping, conducting and documenting risk assessments and corresponding risk management/mitigation plans to ensure audit readiness. They’ll relate the controls and measures they’re invoking and documenting, and how third-party audits are evaluating appropriateness and effectiveness. Then, David and Lori will explain what to expect from CMS Meaningful Use audits and share lessons learned from the process.
- Describe MU expectations for health information privacy and security including scope, appropriate controls, measures, and documentation requirements.
- Discuss how peer AMCs are complying with these requirements.
- Explain the audit program, what to expect in an audit, and how to prepare for one.
