CynergisTek announced today that it will continue to support the healthcare information security industry by participating in four College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) LEAD Forum events in 2015. CynergisTek CEO, Mac McMillan, will deliver the opening keynote address at all four events, entitled, “What is Cybersecurity and Why is it Crucial to Your Organization?” In his presentation, McMillan will address current and emerging cybersecurity trends and cybercrimes, as well as detail the impact cybercrimes can have on a provider organization’s financial viability, operations, patient care and reputation. He will also discuss how increased cyber threats are changing the ways healthcare CIOs approach technology deployment and security management.

McMillan’s presentation will educate attendees on, and create awareness of, these important issues – the first step in making effective cyber security part of an organization’s overall culture.

McMillan also supported three Forums focused on cybersecurity in 2014. “I was honored to speak at the fall events last year and look forward to participating again this year,” said McMillan. “CHIME and iHT2 put together a great agenda that brought the key players in the industry together to address some of the biggest challenges we’re facing.”

“Mr. McMillan is a renowned and well-respected healthcare expert in information security and we are extremely fortunate to have him return as a speaker,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell, FCHIME, CHCIO. “His leadership and expertise are valued assets to our program, helping CIOs and security leaders protect the healthcare industry’s most sensitive financial and clinical information.”

Following the CHIME Forum events, CynergisTek will attend the Institute of Health Information Technology Transformation (iHT2) Health IT Summits. These programs are designed to promote improvements in the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare through information technology and facilitate knowledge exchange. iHT2 programs work to support multi-stakeholder organizations who are navigating health IT issues, policies and strategies to improve care.
