Leading Industry Expert Mac McMillan to Discuss HITECH Implications for Privacy and Security

McMillan’s keynote address titled “HITECH Implications for Privacy and Security” will detail the privacy and security requirements as outlined in the HITECH Act. As part of the presentation, McMillan will also provide best practices for meeting Stage 1 Meaningful Use requirements and will outline a strategy for healthcare organizations to achieve HITECH Act breach penalty Safe Harbor. McMillan will also provide an overview of recent Office of Civil Rights (OCR) privacy and security enforcement activities and offer a variety of readiness strategies. To provide a framework for how to achieve compliance under the HITECH Act, McMillan will conclude his presentation by identifying critical technologies for meeting regulations and ensuring privacy and security in healthcare organizations.

The MHA HITECH Seminar on Security takes place on Thursday, November 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MHA Convention Center in Madison, MS. McMillan’s keynote address “HITECH Implications for Privacy and Security” will take place from 9 to 10:15 a.m.
