Recently, CHIME discussed the value of its Cooperative Member Services Program and how it benefited Brian Sterud, CIO at Faith Regional Health Services.
Late last year, Sterud used CHIME’s Cooperative Member Services Program to find a vendor for security services. The cooperative program is designed to save CHIME members in need of products or services time and money by listing vendor offerings. After searching through the Cooperative Member Services Program, Sterud selected CynergisTek for a proposal.
“CynergisTek rose to the top,” he told CHIME. “They offered a (CAPP) program through CHIME with bundled services at a discount that didn’t require us to pick through options. It was a well put together program, but we were also allowed the flexibility to assemble according to our needs. The offering they had through the CHIME partnership was a really good foundational place for us to start that eliminated a lot of upfront questions. I think that knowing they have partnered with CHIME creates a beneficial level of trust.”
Sterud told CHIME that CynergisTek’s participation as a CHIME Foundation member reassured him that the company and his healthcare system shared a vision of the future of healthcare and the long-term commitment needed to succeed through implementation and beyond. “I think that knowing (CynergisTek) has partnered with CHIME creates a level of trust that helps you, and adds another level of scrutiny, in the search process, and when we partner with them, we can know they are a trusted partner,” Sterud said.
He cited other advantages as well. “They are able to augment what talent we have here and allow us to leverage their skills without Faith Regional having to hire new people, a nice partnership.” he said.
As a CAPP customer, Faith Regional Health Services and CynergisTek agreed upon a three-year partnership that includes:
- Annual risk assessment
- Ongoing technical testing
- Unlimited advisory services
- Meaningful Use security controls assessment
- Access to other CAPP clients and a referral network to speak with peers about technology investments, strategic issues, governance, or other topics.
