CynergisTek Invited to be a Foundation Member of AEHIS

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) recently launched a new division, the Association of Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS). AEHIS is designed to support and educate top healthcare IT security leaders, especially the CSO and CISO. The association is the first professional group designed specifically towards the security professional. It officially launched on July 31st with 50 members, and aims to reach 100 members within the first year. CHIME is hosting three educational events this fall to help launch and build support for the association, titled “The Health Information Executive’s Guide to Cyber Security LEAD Forums” which are being held across the country.

CynergisTek has been invited by CHIME to become a Foundation Firm member of AEHIS, and CynergisTek CEO, Mac McMillan was selected as the keynote speaker for each of the educational events. In all three forums, McMillan will present, “What is Cyber Security and Why is it Crucial to Your Organization.” His session will address current and recent cyber security trends and cyber crimes, as well as review how cyber threats are affecting organizations. The presentation will educate attendees and create awareness of these important issues – the first step in making effective cyber security part of an organization’s culture.

Following the keynote, Chuck Podesta, CIO of Fletcher Allen Health Care, and Cletis Earle, VP and CIO of St Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, will present, “Creating an Effective Cyber Security Strategy: Key Attributes for Success, Challenges, and Critical Success Factors.”

The Cyber Security LEAD forums will kick off in New York City on September 15th, followed by an event in Washington, D.C. on October 6, 2014 and will close in Houston on December 8th. AESIC is already considering adding a national conference next year along with online forums.
