Prior to the official conference, AHIMA is holding the Privacy & Security Institute. The Institute is an advanced level meeting made up of seasoned privacy and security professionals. It is an interactive meeting where attendees are encouraged to ask questions and generate discussion throughout each presentation. During this two day workshop, presenters will look at some of the most common privacy and security trends in the field right now. CynergisTek’s Melissa Stice Larson, VP of Audit Services, will be presenting an informative presentation at the convention titled “Preparing Your Organization for a Meaningful Use Audit”. In this session, Melissa will review what the Meaningful Use audit looks like, explain all of the required documentation, provide insight as to what to expect from an audit and will identify best practices to help organizations prepare for an audit. A Panel Discussion: Emerging Privacy and Security Challenges | Wednesday 11:15-12:15
CynergisTek’s Mac McMillan will participate in a group discussion on some of the biggest privacy and security challenges in the healthcare IT industry. He will be joined industry experts by Angela Dihn Rose, Adam Greene and Jacki Monson. During this panel discussion the group will have an open discussion to address some of the hottest topics such as lessons learned from recent breaches and incidents, as well as recent compliance audit activities.
